Geothermal Potential in Indonesia
Geothermal Potential in Indonesia
According to Presidential Regulation No. 22 of 2017, the Indonesian government aims to develop 7,200 MW of geothermal energy by 2025, contributing to the 23% renewable energy target. With the current capacity at around 2,100 MW in 2020, adding 5,100 MW in the next five years requires a strategic approach and strong government support to overcome key challenges in geothermal development.
